Wellness Classes

Tobacco Cessation – This eight-week, one-hour per session class helps participants “kick the habit” for good. Heavy group discussion as well as information on exercise, stress management and weight control and preventive dentistry.

“Lowdown on Nutrition” – A four-week, one-hour per session class focusing on all areas of nutrition to include: “Pro’s, Carb’s & Fats” Phenomenon, Cholesterol reduction through better food choices and sensible ways to lose weight.

Stress Management – A 4-week, hour and a half per session class that teaches positive coping skills to manage stress. Not intended as one-on-one counseling.

Individual Nutrition Counseling (by appointment only) – Basic dietary evaluation to determine individualized meal plan for healthy eating and weight loss.

NEW! Exercise Prescription - Personalized exercise program designed to enhance physical fitness.  Frequency, time, type, and intensity of exercise will be addressed based on the individuals fitness goal and fitness level.

Forever Fit – Guide to a healthy lifestyle, 8 week program which encompasses the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular risk factors (i.e. cholesterol, hypertension, diabetes, obesity) and cancer prevention. Goals of this class are to reduce blood pressure, cholesterol and body fat and to develop life long healthy behaviors, and to reduce modifiable risk factors.

New! Basic Weight Training - The class will teach the benefits of basic weight training, proper mechanics and techniques.  Participants will learn all about free weights, resistance machines, and weight bearing exercises. (wear workout attire)

Prenatal Fitness & Health – Six week class teaches expectant mothers the proper way to exercise and maintain their fitness during and after pregnancy.  class will consist of exercise instructional sessions.  Wear comfortable workout clothing! A physician’s medical release is required. dietitian available for one on one counseling by appointment.

Bone Health - This class is designed to teach the importance of including calcium in your diet along with the proper mechanics/techniques in strength training and weight bearing exercise to combat osteoporosis.

Healthy Back Class – This class provides educational information and exercise instruction for individuals with low back pains/dysfunction, and for those identified to be at a higher risk for low back injuries. PT referral required.

New! Running Clinic - This class is designed to teach running mechanics, proper shoe selection, injury prevention, performance enhancement and more.  Class is taught by a physical therapist.

New! Eat Smart…Play Hard – This 12 week healthy weight loss program that teaches proper nutrition, exercise principles and techniques and behavior change. A Microfit (fitness assessment) is performed at the beginning and end of this class to show improvement gains. The goals of this class are to balance healthy eating habits and
